Gurneys Cider
Gurneys Cider
Family owned and run, Gurneys Cidery offers a unique cider tasting experience. The 70 acre estate's orchard is home to 7000 heritage cider apple trees and offers spectucular views overlooking Wilsons Promontory National Park and Corner Inlet. The award winning cellar door is open 6 days a week (closed Tuesday) and offers cellar door sales, tasting experience and share plates and tours of 'The Arches' - the world's largest underground cider cellar. Underground tours require booking.
The Gurnett family emigrated from Somerset, England to Foster, Victoria in 2001. They yearned for a taste of the traditional dry ciders that they had left behind. Unable to find any ciders they liked, they started making their own! After years of searching for the perfect land to grow their cider apple trees, the family found their dream 70 acre farm at 343 Fish Creek-Foster Rd.
The family set to work, bringing their vision to life by planting thousands of heritage apple trees across the farm. They built their cider production shed and finally using a mix of locally sourced and recycled timber built their award winning Cellar Door.
Gurneys Ciders are proudly handmade in Foster, Gippsland on the family farm using apples and pears from our own orchards. At Gurneys we keep Cider making simple and use a mix of traditional and new world production techniques. This results in cider full of terroir and character that changes with seasons.
